Adult Events

Bar Top Book Club

Love the idea of reading and discussing a book but a traditional book club isn’t for you? Try our Bar Top Book Club. This group will meet at the Pump House Bar and Grill (1523 E Edwardsville Rd, Wood River, IL) rather than the library. You are encouraged to enjoy their menu or a beverage while discussing great books! This isn’t your typical book club! For more information, Call the Library at 254-4832.


Bullet Journaling Club

Whether you’re just beginning your bullet journaling adventure or you’re a seasoned pro, this meetup is for you! Bring along your bullet journal or notebooks, your favorite pens or art supplies (we will have some to share!), and join us as we swap ideas, talk about our 2019 goals, and enjoy this fun way of expressing your creativity. Knitting & Crochet Club

This club fosters community and balance through learning new skills and practicing them with others. Knitting and crocheting are therapeutic and help reduce stress levels. Come join us today, meet new people, and learn something new! This is a free, monthly event open to all ages. Yarn will be provided. Please bring your own knitting or crochet needles.


Children’s Events

Wee Jams

Wee Jam is a weekly program held at the library for kids 5 and younger that is fun filled 45 minutes. Kids are invited to play with bubbles and dance to Koo Koo Kangaroo each week on Fridays at 1:30. No registration required. For more information. please call the library at 254-4832.


Messy Hands

Messy Hands is a monthly art hour for toddlers. Each month we will provide all the materials necessary for your child to get messy and explore are. Registration required each month so we can ensure we have enough materials. There are no costs involved in this program. For more information, please call the library at 254-4832.


Tales to Tails

Each month Patience the Comfort Dog will be in the library for kids to read to her. Patience is an LCC K-9 Comfort Dog for Lutheran Church Charities. She loves to interact with kids and listen to them read her stories. Patience will be in the library on the second Tuesday of each month after school from 3:00- 4:00. Early Dismissal Days

When Lewis & Clark Elementary and Junior High schools get out early, send your kiddos to the library for some fun! Each month we have planned something different from 11:30-1:00 providing some extra fun for those early dismissal days. Kids are encouraged to bring their lunch or a snack to enjoy before we get started. Date varies so check our calendar often! For more information on this event, call the library at 254-4832.


A.T.L.A.S. (After School At The Library)
Book Club

A.T.L.A.S. (At The Library After School) Book Club was created in hopes of getting children ages 8-12 into reading, critical thinking, and discussing a book with a group. A book will be chosen each month to be read and discussed the following month. The books will be ordered through the library then can be checked out with your library card.
