The Library offers events for kids of all ages. Most programs don’t require registration or residency. They are also usually FREE. If you have any questions about any program you see listed, please call the library at 254-4832!

The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless. Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before your precious one starts kindergarten. Does it sound hard? Not really if you think about it. If you read just 1 book a night, you will have read about 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in two years, and 1,095 books in three years. If you consider that most children start kindergarten at around 5 years of age, you have more time than you think (so get started). Remember if you created an account on
WeeJam is a weekly program held at the library for kids 5 and younger that is fun filled 30 minutes. Kids are invited to play with bubbles and dance each week on Fridays at 9:30.
Each month a certified comfort dog will be in the library for kids to read to. The comfort dogs are LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs for Lutheran Church Charities. They love to interact with kids and listen to them read stories. Tales2Tails will be on the second Tuesday of each month from 3:00- 4:00.
Early Dismissal Days
When Lewis & Clark Elementary and Junior High schools get out early, send your kiddos to the library for some fun! Each month we have planned something different from 11:30-1:00 providing some extra fun for those early dismissal days. Kids are encouraged to bring their lunch or a snack to enjoy before we get started. Date varies so check our calendar often!
A.T.L.A.S. (After School At The Library)
A.T.L.A.S. (At The Library After School) Book Club was created the the goal of getting children ages 8-12 into reading, critical thinking, and discussing a book with a group. A book will be chosen each month to be read and discussed the following month. The books will be ordered through the library
Family Lego Build Day
Meets the last Saturday of each month September through May, from 10:30-1:30. Bring the entire family and create something awesome at the library! This event is geared for those of all ages. You will have complete creative freedom when you join us for Family Build Day. This is an event for all ages and is free to anyone. We ask that children under the age of 8 are accompanied by an adult.
Lego Club meets monthly from September-May on the third Tuesday of the month from 3:30-4:30. The library will provide all the materials necessary and kids 2nd-8th grade can create whatever comes to mind. Creations will be displayed in the library until the next Lego Club.
This event combines literacy and movement. We will read stories each week followed by some tumbling. Meets every Tuesday of each month September through May, from 9:00-9:45. This is an event held at the Round House and is for kids 5 and younger.
Discovery Kids (formerly Science Club)
Join us September through May, the first Thursday of each month from 6:00-7:00, as we learn through play at Discovery Kids. Each month we will be learning something new in S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, art, math). This monthly program is geared toward all children grades 2nd through 5th.
Storytime is a themed story hour, full of crafts, and activities and stories for 4-6yr olds. This program meets September through May on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM. This is a general age guideline as activities are geared toward kids this age.
Toddler Tales is a themed storytime for kids 18mo-3yr which incorporates stories, crafts, and activities. This program meets September through May, the third Wednesday of each month from 10:30-11:00.
