Bar Top Book Club
Love the idea of reading and discussing a book but a traditional book club isn’t for you? Try our Bar Top Book Club. This group will meet at the Pump House Bar and Grill (1523 E Edwardsville Rd, Wood River, IL) rather than the library. You are encouraged to enjoy their menu or a beverage while discussing great books! This isn’t your typical book club! For more information, call the Library at 254-4832
*NEW* Film Social
Are you a movie lover? Have you ever wished you could sit and talk with another movie buff after watching a great (or not so great) film and discuss the elements, characters, and plot line? Then we have the gathering for you! Our new Film Social will be held monthly on the third Monday from 6:30 – 7:30 pm. It’s easy! Just watch the chosen film before the meeting date, then come to the library and gather with other like-minded individuals and compare movie notes.
*NEW* Creative Circle
We all have our favorite hobbies; bullet journaling, knitting, crocheting, scrap booking, journaling, cross stitch, macrame, origami, needlework, quilting, card making….the list could go on. Wood River Public Library wants to invite you to our monthly Creative Circle. It will includes crafting of all kinds, light snacks and beverages, and fun discussion with other like-minded individuals. Bring your favorite hobby along with you, chat while working on your crafts, and share what you’ve been doing. This fun, FREE, monthly event will take place from 6:00 – 7:30 pm on the third Tuesday of each month in our upstairs event room. No need to register, just come as you are, and enjoy the evening.
This free, 60-minute class will feature light cardio, a range of motion in our joints, gentle strength building with light hand weights & elastic resistance bands, and stretch our muscles. Great for everyone, especially seniors, those with mobility challenges, and those easing into a fitness routine. Class taught by certified instructor Kelly Masinelli.
Join us Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm with certified yoga instructor Kelly Masinelli. This is a gentle all-levels yoga class designed to relieve stress and help you relax. Classes are $5 per session and will be capped at 20 participants. To register or find out more information, call the library at 254-4832.
Open Minds Book Club
The Wood River Library Open Minds Book Club is held on the first Monday of each month at 5:30 pm. A different book is chosen to be read and discussed the following month. Adults of all ages are encouraged to join us as we expand our minds with
